  The steamers on the Mississippi were an important means of transport in the years 1870-1920. Today the Mississippi steamboat are a symbol of the American West. Through the film came "typical American steamer" on the Mississippi River to fame, however, was the spread in many other rivers. Its flat hull and the large paddle at the stern allowed driving on shallow waters with many sandbanks.

     This is a beautiful model of a typical American steamboat that operated from the 1870’s to 1920’s. the shallow draft of these fine boats allowed them to navigate all but the smallest of the main rivers.

     The Sergal Kit of the Mississippi Features: A double plank on frame hull construction, building plans with general details, English instructions, lost wax brass castings, walnut and lime planking, wooden masts and spars, brass and walnut fittings, etched brass details, aluminium smoke stacks rigging cord and silk flags. All sheet ply sections are laser cut for accuracy.
